Some Motel Tips for ALL Motel Stays
1 Prices can vary widely, ask for the lowest rate. Make your travel plans on the phone with a motel reservations clerk, it doesn't hurt to ask if there is an available "low-rate" room.
2 Always look at your room before you pay! Its the only way you will know if your truly getting what your promised at check in.
3 Ask if you have anything that qualifies you for a preferred rate. Motoring association membership, etc.
4 Consider bed-and-breakfast alternatives. Other more cozy and friendly then motels.
5 Ask before you pay when it comes to amenities. Need a non smoking room, internet access, Adjoining rooms, the time to ask is before you pay.
6 Dont pick the first place you call or pull into, shop around.
7 Ask if the motel is Pet Friendly even if you dont have a pet.
8 Is there proper lighting in the lot and around the rooms. Are there cars in the lot?
9 Is it an Extended Stay Motel with a Kitchenette, and is that what you really need?
10 Do you really think you will be at that city on that date, make sure you have the proper timeline.
